Supercell's August Update is less about one headline feature and more about several checkpoints that affect different kinds of Chiefs. Town Hall 18 gets new progression levels, new and returning players get a revised starting path, and war-focused players get adjusted Clan War League modifiers. This Clash Players edition groups those changes by the decision they create in-game.
TH18 progression starts with Diggy and two Supercharges
The update adds five Diggy levels and two new Supercharge options for Town Hall 18. For TH18 players, the first check is therefore the upgrade queue:
Diggy: levels 11–15.
New Supercharge levels: Builder's Hut and Monolith.
New and returning Chiefs need to watch the rollout
The Starter Pass is being retired. Anyone already partway through one can still finish it, but the replacement path begins earlier: Season Challenges now start at Town Hall 3. The Gold Pass is also available for purchase from Town Hall 3, and Season Pass and Gold Pass rewards scale with Town Hall level.
Supercell says these features will roll out as a test starting in September, so not every new Chief at the affected Town Halls will see them immediately. That makes the practical checklist simple: finish an active Starter Pass, check whether Season Challenges are available at Town Hall 3, and confirm the reward track shown for the account's Town Hall.
The battle-end screen changes what you check after an attack
All Home Village battles receive a rebuilt end-of-battle screen. It has a refreshed layout, a new victory banner, and a clearer breakdown of loot and bonus rewards. The useful distinction is that this is a results-reading change for Home Village battles, not a new rule for every battle mode.
Clan War League modifiers now scale differently
The top leagues are getting the modifier progression Supercell says was originally intended. The update changes the old and new modifier tiers as follows:
League | Old modifiers | New modifiers |
|---|---|---|
Titan I | Legend I | Legend II |
Titan II | Legend II | Legend III |
Titan III | Legend II | Legend III |
Legend League modifiers are unchanged.
Ruin Witch, quality-of-life changes, and the claim window
Ruin Knights no longer lose health over time, and Ruin Witch now summons up to 10 of them instead of 8.
Wall Rings no longer require a free Builder.
Revive Spell can be cast directly on a fallen Hero's icon to revive that Hero where it fell.
Hero Journey quests can fall back to a default Common Equipment quest when the required Epic Equipment is not owned.
The Fast Forward button can be fully disabled in Advanced Settings.
Contributing Gold to the Capital Treasury no longer closes its window; the clan total remains visible and updates live.
Bug-fix checklist before you move on
Totems summoned by Totem Spell now count as 1 Housing Space instead of 20, correcting their interaction with Dark Crown and Monolith Arrow.
Angry Spell now appears in Clan Castle troop requests for lower Town Hall players.
Hot Candle no longer starts melting during scouting; it starts when the battle begins.
Affected players can claim Hero Journey rewards that failed to unlock, but they have 7 days to collect them. Hero Skins do not expire.
A Hero Journey tooltip issue is fixed; the visual bug did not mean quests were missed.
Recalled troops should no longer get stuck on or around Walls after redeployment.
Meteor Golem retains Angry Spell effects and targeting when it splits, is thrown, or merges.
Dragon Duke's Rocket Backpack dash now keeps its flame effect, Flame Blower fires in the direction Dragon Duke faces, and the dash finishes before he can be defeated.
The editorial takeaway is a set of separate checks rather than one universal priority: TH18 players have new upgrade targets, new and returning Chiefs have a changed progression path, CWL leaders need to account for the modifier table, and players affected by Hero Journey issues have a limited reward-collection window.
